Detox: Are You Doing Your "Pre-Tox"?

I am a firm believer that we all should detox regularly from the toxins we are exposed to every day in our water, cleaning products, food, and personal care products….

However from my experience and from what I see on the internet, there is a TON of bad advice regarding detoxing.

Common Detox Mistake: Not properly preparing your body

When we detox, we are clearing stored toxins from our tissues and cells.

The human body has an amazing natural detoxification system. Our liver and kidneys are responsible for breaking down toxins and eliminating them from the body.

The liver is considered the most important organ for detoxification. There are two key phases of detox - Phase I and II - which occur in the liver.

So you may have guessed it, one of the essential keys of detox is to make sure we have properly supported the liver and kidneys.

However due to excessive toxins, vitamin deficiencies, and some genetics, our liver becomes overburdened and can't detox efficiently.

Without properly supporting the liver and kidneys, our overburdened liver can’t break down the toxins released in a detox.

When this happens, people tend to feel horrible…

They have headaches, low energy, fatigue, depression, brain fog… and the list goes on and on…

When we support our detox organs (liver and kidneys) prior to a detox, we tend to have better results and feel much better through the detox process.

So how can we prepare the liver and kidneys for a detox?

Methylated B Vitamins - used by liver to successfully break down and clear toxins - my favorite is Designs for Health Ultra B12/ Folate

Glutathione - chemical that helps keep inflammation down, while driving detox - My favorite is Designs for Health Liposomal Glutathione

Minerals - help keep your body hydrated - I love the LMNT or Trace Minerals

Water with lemon - keeps body alkaline during detox

Coffee Enema - support and assist in liver detoxification

Liver Support Supplements - Designs for Health LV-GB

These supplements and tools are key to a successful detox and can be purchased through our supplement store!
